For the past five months its been extremely unfortunate that I have been wearing almost the same exact few pieces every day.

While fingering through the garments in my overstuffed closet, I can not help but grab the same over-sized nude colored sweater, black skinny jeans, and dainty ballet flats! No to mention I must have a wrist full of gold bracelets.

The answer is yes. I am obsessed with this combination of chic and comfortable. Don't judge!

The unfortunate thing is that I am six weeks into the school year and I still have the smell of summer adventure lingering in my recently ombred hair. There were so many great destinations that I went to that I only wish I could sit down with you and invite you to have a vituperative conversation with me.
I must say however, this trip was special because my family and I tried to resist going to touristy areas and instead living it like locals in the beautiful cities on New York and Washington D.C.
I hope every one had a summer to remember and is well equipped with thick, cable knit sweaters for the fast approaching fall season.

While visiting my older brother at Purdue University in Indiana, we had a little errand day. The three locations on our odyssey where Target, Spencer's Gifts and Boarders.

Now, I don't really know particularly why we went to Spencer's Gifts, but there was an amazing beard bennie that I tried on!

Also, WE COULD NOT BELIEVE BOARDERS IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS! So we had to stop by and get our shop on and walk out with well over 14893 books and magazines in our possession.

Then we went to Target to buy some Bugles, the cornucopia like chips, which I use to consume daily in the 3rd grade.

On Thursday I was so excited to attend, for the second year, Fashion Rules! at Neiman Marcus. This event happens once a year to showcase all the new spring/summer merchandise the store will be selling during the season. There are two full fashion shows on the second floor of the store that is closed off to the public during the event. With the amazing DJ Beatnick playing all my favorites (like Lady GaGa's Born This Way!!!!) and the arty finger food, I felt like maybe I'm not missing out on fashion week's happening around the globe after all!

HOWEVER, it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns. There was one crucial thing that really changed the way my night played out. I FORGOT MY CAMERA AT HOME! Luckily, there was a Keshot camera set up were I could make rudimentary videos and take pictures that do the trick. I couldn't take any of the models, but you can see the thrifted dress I wore!

Inspired by all the fur displayed this Fashion Week NY 2011, especially in The Row collection, I decided to break out the cheetah faux fur and take it for a stroll on a chilly Friday evening. I thrifted this bad boy and I adore it, despite the smell of kitty litter lingering on the sleeves from the previous drifter who owned it.

The first three days of Fashion Week New York have already taken my breathe away, and I can't believe it's not even half way done! I have found myself being glued to style.com and Nylon magazine's Tweets straight from the front row.

I collected some of my favorite looks from a few of the most stellar designers( well, my personal favorites!) at fashion week.

I am over-joyed to see bold colors, fur, quirky prints, and many uses of grayscale so far during these fall ready-to-wear shows. So much inspiration and I can't wait to see what comes next!!

Fashonistas, Designers, Photographers, and Bloggers, Fashion Week New York is back again in 2011 and going to hit us like a cold, hard punch right to our Chanel makeup covered faces.

I have posted a few random photos before I start doing reviews on collections at Fashion Week. I can't wait (my heart is literally racing!) to go on style.com and browse through the crisp, vertical photos of the models on the runway. Designers like Christian Siriano (who I've met, as you can see in the picture on my side panel!) and Michael Kors will be at the top of my list to keep my eyes fixed on, as well as the other 250 plus designers showcasing their goods at Fashion Week!

I hope all you Crumpets readers will check in starting tomorrow all the way through the 18th for little snippets of my thoughts, rants, and opinions of the clothes fest taking place in the Lincoln Center.

I will leave you with one last note that has been haunting me for the past few days; imagine if you were in the same room, watching the same fashion show, as all the fashion gods; Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Andre Leon Talley, just to name a few...

Have you ever felt like you are about to burst from pure joy due to something you just purchased that is probably one of the best items you have ever held in your hands...in your life!?!?

If not, please, let me explain why this feeling came upon me this afternoon.

Today, Feb. 4, I had a very important date that I couldn't miss, even if my academic career was at steak. It started with me dashing out of school just a bit earlier than the bell (please don't follow my example!), and racing over to the LF store in La Jolla. I had received an invitation via email for an exclusive sale of 60% off the entire store from 3pm to 6pm! I know, I know insanity, right?

Being the first anxious girl in line, my lovely mother and I strategically planned what we were going to run in and fight for first.

It turns out I left the store with a jacket, two tops, a skirt, a pair of loafers, a sweater,a feather clip, and a faux fur purse fit for a couture beast. WOW! best buys of my life, hands down.

Thank you LF employees for all of your great help and expert tips on what to buy! Also, my apologies for all of us wild-animal shoppers making the store a complete and utter mess!

First off, i would like to apologize for the itty bitty, Thumbalina pictures. I couldn't decide which ones i wanted to show you guys so i just posted them all! Here i have posted a little log of all my favorite things at Comic Con San Diego 2010. I went to the geek fest all five days it was here, and i enjoyed every crowded, crazy, and comical second of the convention. I was pleasantly surprised to see many great costumes and memorabilia that weren't just for the comic lover. They were booths with jewelry, clothing, nick knacks, and plush toys. Going to the geek infested event is such a treat because the best event thing to do is free, people watch!

Boys and girls, I believe that the wild has cast its mysterious spell on my soul, and has led me to want to strive for a life filled with simplicity and peace under the shade of the trees. Bailee and I set out to tread the many trails and trudge through the tall grasses of the wilderness of San Diego County. Wearing basically the same clothes for a week without a shower was probably one of the grossest things I have ever done, yet I was over-joyed to be doing it. Spending days under the beating sun and whispering trees made me want want to be out there for years, and never return to reality. There was definitely tangible magic in the untouched land. You would only understand if you have experienced it yourself. Therefore, please go and enjoy the gifts of the earth and go away for a while; live like you never have before. I did, and I would like to say it changed my life.

Kittens, it's DIY time! I made a skull cut out shirt in approximately 8 minutes and I ADORE IT. First, I dug through every single space in my house that could possibly have a potential shirt for me to thrash. (I happen to find an oversized black one, but it has a Sony logo on it...such is life.)Then, I laid it out on a flat surface and with a pencil I lightly drew two eyes, a nose, and teeth that I could cut out so there would be holes. After that, I simply snipped the swatches of fabric out of the holes I drew and voila, skull skully shirt!

What is the spider web like thing clinging to the rest of my body, you may ask? I also attempted to make a "shredded T-shirt" which took FOREVER, but it is probably one of the most eye-catching shirts I own to this date. All I did to make it was rip the seem at the bottom of the shirt and then pull the threads apart until you get the effect you want. Might I add, I worked on it every day in my Physical Education class while my teacher was blabbing about the rules of gym games. Best investment of my time. Ever.

Best cashiers at the sale, displaying my "Gift with Purchase"...I know...It was free OK!

YA! BAGS OF CLOTHES! Alright, before I explain the photos above, I want you to put your self in my shoes (at the time I was wearing Jones New York Combat Boots;)). If you walked into 500 square feet of clothes that were up to 85% off, what would you do and where would you start? Don't know? NEITHER DID I!!! On May 8, I set out to try and under take the task of rummaging through clothes at an American Apparel Flea Market Sale. The two-day sale started at 10 am and ended at 8 pm and was re-stalked every few hours. Lets just say I was in the lower level of the store fighting people off from my treasure-like stack of clothes for too many hours! With sweat running down my brow due to the heat of the large amount of people vigorously going through clothes, I managed to find some outrageously cheap and eccentric pieces. So, the break down of some of my favorite buys: three California Select Vintage dresses $10 each, California Select Vintage riding pants $10, Neon pink Gloria V body suit $12, Silver high waisted Hot Short $5, and "SELF SERVICE F/W 07" coffee table book for $4. Don't worry everyone, I spent all of my saved up money on these extremely necessary things:) I hope if there is ever a flea market sale near you, you attend for your benefit. I know I would go again in a heart beat.

I whipped these little puppies up in about ten minutes. I really, truly enjoy the trend of putting studs on some old, beat up ballet slippers. Studs and ballet slippers are almost the perfect example of polar opposites....I have worn these little studded rose petals to school and everyone asked me why I was wearing ballet shoes, I just told them that I like to dance down the halls to my next class:) Yes, yes I do.

Over my much needed spring break last week, goodness, I did so many glorious things that I want to share with you all! I attended an event called "THREAD", which is used as a segway for budding San Diego independent fashion designers to get their names out. There were two fashion shows, lots of camera flashes, and free food (score!) for everyone to enjoy. There were two main designers that really stuck out to me which were "CLOVER AND FOLLY" and "HUNT & GATHER". Clover and Folly was started by a whimsical, lovely youngen named April Cromer. Every single item that she designes is full of magic, creativity and best of all from the heart. I would do ANYTHING to own one of her crochet wire tea cup necklaces. Hunt & Gather is a concept created by Zoe Crenshaw. She goes out into the curious world and spends time going rack by rack trying to find the most individual and unique vintage pieces so she can redo them or re cut them. GENIUS I KNOW!

Yesterday, April 3 of 2010, I decided I needed to make a change and chop of 10 inches of my hair to donate to Locks of Love for Easter. I have been wanting to do this since fifth grade and I finally woke up (when I woke up, it was almost like those times when you have an epiphany in your sleep and you spring up from your bed and could break a wooden plank with your forehead because of the velocity you are traveling from your mattress to an up right position:)) and felt the need to chop of my friend, shield, and statement (my hair) so another child would be able to enjoy it as much as I did. I think donating my hair was one of the best decisions I have made. I feel so refreshed and proud with my new shorty-mick-short-short hair! I can't wait to see how I will handle it in the near future and if any of you have beautiful, lushes, long hair...DONATE IT!

Goodness me, goodness my, I did it. I totally gave into the temptation. I was done seeing pictures everywhere I looked of gals with beautiful, blue hair. I had to try it, i had to take a leap of faith. I am quite in love with it:) I got the dye at Rite Aid and I followed all the directions and waited for about 45 minutes and presto, magical happenings in my hair.

P.S I got invited to start a LOOKBOOK!!! Whoop! I love the concept and I have been wanting to start one and finally got the chance. Thanks for the invite Gemini:) Check it out here!

I really never thought I would be writing this, but today is Crumpets&T's first year anniversary!!!! What? I know crazy right? I would have never thought I was going to start a fashion blog with my friend and generate photo shoots, do extensive amounts of research and exploring, last but not least, posting photos of our lives, outfits, thoughts and dreams.One whole year of inspiring, enlightening and creating has taught me so much. Being part of the fashion blog world is like no other experience. At first it is so intimidating because other blogs have massive amounts of followers, out of this world headers, and best of all, posts that will leave you questioning your self about things you never thought you could think of. I remember looking at popular blogs and wishing and hoping and working for this blog to be just as great. I believe that so far it is the best it could be! This blog has given us a place to share something so dear to us that some other people don't understand; fashion. So we would like to thank ALL of our followers, occasional visitors, commenter's, other bloggers, the supportive people, the insurers and most of all fashion. Thank you so much for all the encouraging comments that make us want to work 10 times harder. Thank you and we hope we can have many more amazing years with all of you! This spectator's dress looked stunning from the angel below, I just wanted to walk up to her and ask if I could pet her ruffles. Not weird at all.

Complete with sky high heels, exotic hors d'oeuvres I could not even begin to figure out how to spell, and DJ BeatNick, who probably learned his skill from DJ Tiesto himself, I was invited to San Diego Magazine's presentation of "Fashion Rules" Spring 2010 Trends fashion show at Neiman Marcus on Thursday, March 4th. As the youngest blogger there, I enjoyed every tasteful moment of this lively, upbeat concoction of young, old, tall, and short (me) people inside the gleaming, upscale store at Fashion Valley Mall.

I spent the night strolling around with my camera in hand, feeling quite professional if I may say so myself;), taking quick snapshots of people wearing combinations of clothes that I liked, and the occasional Kodak moment of a model strutting by with a glossed pout and beaming Christian Louboutin's strapped to her feet.

There were three trends being showcased that night: TRIBAL (no drums and headdresses included, I know ... bummer!) DENIM DRESSING, FEMININE DRAPING, and my favorite BLUE. The outfit I praised the most was a little dress decked out in sparkly blue sequins (I believe my liking of shinny objects moving at a certain speed made me fall in love with it.)

What in the name of tea cups and saucers is going on? you may ask. Well, let me asist you. During the summer, Isabella and I attended the wonderous and world famous (i think) Comic-Con Convention in San Diego, 2009! We danced our way around the convention hall viewing wonderful hand-made trinkets, masses of comic books, grown men dressed as Anime creatures they wish they were, and "Alice and Wonderland" seekers.

As many of us do, I really enjoy the whole "Twilight" scene. That's what lured me into spending the night on the crunchy, cold grass outside of "Hall H" - along with another one thousand Twihards - to earn a spot in the front row during the New Moon panel where the live cast would answer questions from the audience. However I shall save all those bloody detailes for a later date:)> (attempt at vampire smiley)

While waiting for the cast of New Moon to show their lovely faces, we got to see numerous previews of upcoming movies! Whoop! This is when the magic and tea cups started flying. They debuted the "Alice in Wonderland" movie trailer which literally made me pee my pants. To make the experience even better, they played it three more times. However, I think Tim Burton (the movie's director there in flesh and blood and with a head of unrulie curls), personally cued the repetition of the trailer, did that for strategic purposes because "someone" was terribly late ... naughty. That "someone" was the one and only god of being-any-character-thrust-upon-him ... JOHNNY DEPP! The crowd roared with screams (myself, yes, i shed a tear. What are you going to do?) He made his stay very brief. He waved, bowed, smiled and left the stage. What?! I know. It's OK, at least he came right? Anyhow, after this episode, a little voice said on the overcom "My children, don't forget to follow (Twitter name I don't remember) on Twitter to be invited to a very important date" (this was said in a little female Cockney English accent:)) I followed it, and in about twenty minutes there was a tweet saying "please come to the Mad Hater tea party at (address given)". LET'S GO!

Outside of a vacant restaurant in downtown San Diego, there was an enormous, and I mean huge, "Alice in Wonderland" sign. When we approached the building, a sweet lady handed us a key and said, "Hello, and welcome. You are about to experience the artistry and inspiration of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" in theatres March 5th." Yet again I peed my pants. We walked in, and their was a massive wooden door accompanied by flourishing ferns. We pushed it open, and went down the rabbit whole! That led us to a walk-through set of the movie, complete with all of the characters' costumes all the way down to the bottles that Alice drinks out of. There were glass cases filled with props from the movie. I believe the thing I remember the most was that the Queen of Hearts shoes were a size 5. That means they could fit me ... four years ago! Our guide lead us through three rooms. The first one was where Alice first is in the movie and she drinks the famous "DRINK ME" bottles. Then we scampered off to the tea party set. I couldn't even believe how beautifully that was set up. After that, that last room, was a mixture of the Ice Queen and Queen of Hearts sets with their costumes and props in the appropriate places.

This opportunity was so marvelous and unexpected it made me want to see the movie one hundred times more! I hope every one gets a chance to see it when it releases March 5!

COULD YOU BE ANY MORE AMAZING!! Once again he has captivated our hearts into his own little world of fashion. Although he didn't use as many bright colors and patterns in his outfits this time, the pieces were put together so beautifully, that he didn't even need the craziness.

Rodarte might had made my favorite dresses of this season. The creme colored beauties just made me want to play with woodland creatures in the forest all day. You could tell that the dresses were extremely well crafted and were made with love.

Rebecca Taylor's collection was also one of my favorites. All her clothes looked so light and wearable that anyone could pull them off. The pieces looked so comfortable yet you look dressed to kill. All the earth tones looked so amazing together, like they were crafted by gods.

Oh Peter, can you say uhhhmazing! That one green shiny dress (in the pictures above) stole my heart!! It was old fashion chic, that I would die to have. And those dark lips, can you say yum!

Peter Som isn't a designer that is mentioned a lot in the blog world but should be.

Karen Walker, another incredible show. I think we can all say that those knee socks are a must not matter where you are. Also, the shoulders on some pieces where beyond little shoulder pads, she brought it to the next level, yarn. I died.

Miss Alexa Chung. Not only can she have one of my favorite shows on television, but boy does she know how to dress. Once I saw that she came out with a line for Madewell, my heart leaped. Of course she brought her mix of school girl/grandma/tom boy, and combined it into pieces that made you wanna hop on a plane and go to London.

Another amazing collection would be ADAM's. He used plain pieces that turned into something gorgeous, just with a hint of detail. Loved loved his cute little uptown girl pants, and his beautifully crafted cocktail dresses.

Wangy, Wang, Wang! He never stops impressing and surprising us with his incredible designs only thinkable from the fashion gods themselves. His pieces are extremely beautiful yet, when I see his collections, I picture simple, basic clothing falling into a vat of toxic waste then coming out all souped up and amazing. I want to say that my favorite garment was the studded/beaded/I don't know/polka dotted black blazer that Abby Lee wore in the show. It could be worn as a crisp, business blazer or a going-out number that will blow everyone's mind away.

The Rag & Bone collection made me ask myself, "Does my father own any cardigans?" What was your first thought?? All of these chunky, over-sized pieces for fall make me want to raid my mother's, father's, and brother's closets and layer any cold-colored sweaters I can lay my ring- covered fingers on. The layers and layers of scarfs, sweaters, cardigans and coats are very inspirational for all of us to be fearless and unafraid to envelop ourselves in two, three, maybe even four layers of warmth this fall. All hail the never-ending layers and bulky scarves. (Even though its never-ending sun and heat here in Southern California, I am going to try these looks anyway:D)

Miss Wasson, I am somewhat quite in love with the white scheme going on here. The easy-going designs make me want to wear white all the time. The tattered and distressed pieces made me want to take a cheese grater to my closet! Thank you for that:) What do you guys think of the pre-torn/warn-out clothing these days in fashion? I love it! Any who, I really enjoyed the warmth and coziness of most of these garments, especially that hat with the fuzz Mohawk. Erin really hit the nail on the head by incorporating fresh, breezy whites with the cold weather that fall brings.

Today was fantastic! Bianca and I went to the San Diego Art Walk where we had a swell time. We spent the day looking at different paintings, sketches, and sculptures which inspired us to peruse art seriously. Afterwords we went to the beach and played an intense game of uno.

April 6 was the launch party for San Diego Fashion Week in Escondido. We attended the show and ate everything at the hors d'oeuvres table:) The venue was extremely stellar and the event was well organized. we sat in the front row and criticized like no other. the shops that were showcased, were well chosen. we certainly belonged there with our crossed legs and poised looks. we were over dressed, how it should be.

Today we dealt with microwaves, Polaroids, allies, abandoned couches, preschool refrigerators, dilapidated buildings and Starbucks cups. at school, we were lectured about life by Keith and were brought to tears. after school, we wanted to go to the thrift but it was closed. we are sure they were playing an April fools joke on us:) instead, we walked around town and took photographs of us and beautiful things in life.

i was inspired by the ripped tights fad and decided to make some. i paired them with a fab hounds tooth dress from Urban Outfitters and glorious ankle boots that i bought for $3 at a church thrift. not to mention those boots are probably around 20 years old. supa vintage. school was tolerable today because Isabella and i got to do what we love, dress to impress.

Even though Mondays are known for being a drag, Bianca and I rocked out at school with our fashion sense. As you can see in the previous blog Bianca looked great in her vintage dress while she strolled downtown with her pup, but today i decided to go for more of a modern look. I wore a navy blue turtle neck tucked into my jean shorts, a brown belt, and pink ballerina flats. I found the shirt in my moms closet, which shows you can find the most amazing pieces of clothes where you least expect them to be.

This photo is absolutely beautiful. Isabella and I both thought that if Lykke Li ever made a video for Time Flies, this would be the feel of the video. A young girl, in a white dress, carelessly frolicking in a field full of delicate daisy's. The video would have a antique look with grainy footage just like this photograph.
